WIDA Consortium Research Team Mission
The mission of the WIDA Consortium Research Team is to provide timely, meaningful, and actionable research that promotes educational equity and academic achievement for linguistically and culturally diverse students.
Research team members and subcommittee members include researchers from the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER), the WIDA Consortium Staff, and graduate students from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The WIDA Consortium Research Team also draws support and information from other WIDA staff and research organizations to accomplish its mission.
To identify topics, the research team surveys WIDA Consortium member states and identifies key themes. Research themes are then refined and formed into specific research questions and research projects. Currently, the following research topics are being pursued by the WIDA Consortium Research Team:
- ONPAR™ Parallel Academic Assessments for ELLs
- Formative Language Assessment Records for ELLs (FLARE)™ in Secondary Schools
- Alternate ACCESS for ELLs™
The Research team will post periodic updates on recent projects and presentations. Please read the latest blog posts in the section below:
