Miscellaneous Information

Illinois teaching assistants and paraprofessionals may NOT administer the ACCESS or the W-APT™ even if they hold a teaching certificate. Test administrators must be employed as certified staff.

To determine eligibility for ELL program support based on W-APT™ scores in the state of IL, please refer to the updated W-APT Program Eligibility document .

Please contact the ISBE contacts listed at the top of the page with any questions about eligibility.

New W-APT Scoring Sheets for grades 1-12 were posted in the W-APT section of this website on January 12, 2010. These new scoring sheets offer direction for calculating Literacy and Oral Composite Proficiency Levels. Please e-mail help@wida.us if you have any questions or concerns about their use.
